Government Sponsored Murder

ree

Roe vs Wade - the 1973 Supreme Court decision where the government decided it was okay for a woman to commit murder by aborting her unborn fetus. With that sentence your blood may have just boiled or you are shaking your head in agreement. I am not here to settle the debate that has been raging ever since what I feel was one of the worse decisions in the court's history. I am here to give my opinion in hopes that it can save at least one life. So now that you know where I stand let me try to present my argument of why I feel so strongly against abortion except if the mother's life is in danger or rape. But more importantly why the government should not support or have anything to do with it.

Pro-Life Reasons

  1. Act of Murder

  2. Responsibility & Consequences

  3. Not a Power of the Federal Government

Since the decision we have seen an estimated 55 million (54,559,615 Abortions Since Roe vs. Wade Decision in 1973 | LifeNews.com) babies lives extinguished. Yes you read that right. That is more lives than any war, or a matter of fact, all the wars we ever had in our history as a country. How many lives have been lost during this same time frame by guns, ~525,000 deaths (Deaths from abortion vs guns since 1973 – Sifting Reality). You may be wondering why am I comparing abortion to war and gun deaths? I find it interesting that the political leftists, constantly preach of the evils of guns and the needless deaths caused by them. In addition, they remind us of all the soldiers that were lost from useless wars. So why are they not standing up for the innocent child, that does not have a voice, but rather are on the opposite side with this issue? I find it hypocritical and indefensible for them to justify murder in the case of abortion. You may feel abortion is not murder. Let us look at the definition of murder.

  1. To kill (another human) unlawfully.

  2. To kill brutally or inhumanly.

  3. To put an end to; destroy.

I think you can agree that by definition abortion is murder. A fetus, if left unaffected by suction or other deadly devices, will continue to grow and be born a child. To say a fetus is not living is absurd. It needs no outside influence or assistance other than the mother's body to provide it home. So no matter what you want to believe the simple truth is that the product of conception is a living human that eventually will be an adult like us. By terminating or destroying its life is simply murder. Since murder is illegal and abortion is murder then shouldn't abortion be illegal?

Now let us look from another angle. Why does a woman only have a choice of destroying the life of the child and the father has no say? One argument is that the man does not have to suffer 9 months with the child growing in them. That is a weak argument even though true. Once that child is born and God forbid subject to divorce then the woman tends to get the kids and the man has to pay child support. So if a man has the responsibility and say when a child is outside the womb why not in the womb. If I wanted that child then why not bring it into the world and let me care for it if you don't want to be a part of its life. To me this is just common sense. That child is 50% of my genetics. My flesh and blood. It is just not right that a man that wants the child does not have any say at all. I understand that making a decision to terminate the babies life has to be the hardest decision a woman has to make. That is why I am not at a point where I can say all abortions should be outlawed. It is a decision that usually haunts a woman the rest of her life in a negative way. A new study published in the British Journal of Psychiatry (Abortion and mental health: quantitative synthesis and analysis of research published 1995–2009 | The British Journal of Psychiatry | Cambridge Core) by leading American researcher Dr. Priscilla Coleman of Bowling Green State University finds women who have an abortion face almost double the risk of mental health problems as women who have their baby. Coleman’s study is based on an analysis of 22 separate studies which, in total, examine the pregnancy experiences of 877,000 women, with 163,831 women having an abortion. The study also indicated abortion accounts for one in ten of every adverse mental health issue women face as a whole. (Women Should be Told of Abortion-Mental Health Link Risks | LifeNews.com). The leftists in this country try to paint they are for women, but it is smoke and mirrors. If you are for women why would you subject them to a life of guilt and other negative emotions. If you are for women why are you killing millions of women through abortion and keeping women that can't have kids of their own waiting forever to adopt? Everyone wants to live. We should be a nation that upholds our Declaration of Independence to pursue life and not death. Finally, even though I hold these views I firmly believe the government has no role to allow murder. Our leaders should uphold our founding principles. Ultimately, the decision is between the woman and God. I pray that each one of them that have had to choose to terminate their pregnancy find peace and have had a change of heart. I pray for all the little angels that they are in heaven full of love. I pray that this country will have a change of heart and move towards a time where we will look back and know this evil (like slavery) was a regrettable mistake. I often think of Jesus when he said “ And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, "In as much as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me" (Matthew 25:40). In conclusion, I pray that we give our little ones the opportunity to be the next Einstein, Pasteur, Da Vinci, .... Make Each Day Count! Beach Bum Philosopher
